International Women’s Day (IWD) is a time to celebrate the achievements of women around the world and continue advocating for a more equal future. The 2026 theme, Give to Gain, reminds us that when we give time, knowledge, and resources, we create opportunities and support for women.
At SEIT Tours, our guides share more than just breathtaking landscapes — they share culture, connection and powerful stories. This year, we spoke with Alessia, a passionate SEIT Guide, about what inspired her journey, the women who shaped her along the way, and her message for young women finding their own path.

What or who inspired you to become a SEIT Guide?
I grew up hiking and spent my childhood exploring the outdoors. I wanted a job where I could continue my passion for nature and learn everything about the local plants and animals. But once I started, I found something even more special: the chance to learn about a whole new culture. It felt like I discovered a new world. Now, I am inspired every day to share that world and my passion for this land with everyone I meet.
What’s the most rewarding part of guiding travellers?
The most rewarding part is seeing people truly appreciate the beauty of the place and the culture. It is a wonderful feeling when guests get emotional because they are so moved by what they see and learn. At the end of a tour, when they tell me how much they enjoyed the journey, that recognition makes all the hard work worth it. It’s great to know I helped them connect with this special place.

How can travel help highlight women’s stories?
For me, traveling is a journey of self-discovery. It gave me a chance to step away from my daily life and find out what I truly enjoy and what I want for my future. When I explore new places, I get the chance to hear other people’s stories, and those stories inspire me to create my own.
As a female guide, I have the chance to share the history of the women who shaped this land. And, at the same time, I learn from the women I meet on my tours. Travel shows us that every woman has a story worth telling.
Which woman has been your mentor, and how did she help you?
My role model has always been my grandmother. She is a very hardworking woman who shows me every day how to work with passion and share love with everyone. I hope that one day I can be just like her and have a loving family always around me. Even now, as she gets older and starts to forget the small things, it is beautiful to see all the support she receives from the people who love her. Her life taught me that if you give love and work hard, you will always be surrounded by kindness.
What message do you have for young women starting their career?
Believe in yourself and don’t be afraid to speak up. Your ideas are valuable, and your voice deserves to be heard in every room. My advice is to be patient with yourself while you learn and to look for a career that truly makes you feel proud. When you work with passion and treat people with kindness, you will find your own path to success. Remember, you have a unique story to tell, and the world is waiting to hear it.
